Best Overall Yoga Pants
Lucy Studio Hatha Capri Legging
Good ease of movement
The [Lucy Studio Hatha Capri Legging is our Editors' Choice award winner
for being the best pair of yoga pants that we tested in this review for actually practicing yoga in. There are a lot of options out there that are great for wearing around town or as pseudo pajama pants (see our Top Pick below), but when it comes to actually bending and sweating in something, the Lucy Studio Hatha topped our tests and scores. The material is lightweight and breathable, but still compressed and supported us in those important areas where we need a little lift and tuck. We never felt impeded by these leggings, nor were they a distraction during class, as they stayed in place and moved with us well. The styling is a little plain, particularly in the green heather color that we tested, but they are also available in a variety of ever changing prints, and also solid Black. Lucy makes them in a wide range of sizes, from XXS to 3X, so that you can find the right fit for you. They're also available in a full-length legging, the Lucy Studio Hatha Legging
, and also as the Lucy Studio High Rise Hatha Legging, in case you prefer some additional coverage up top
. With some many options, there is something for everyone!
Our Editors' Choice winner, the Lucy Studio Hatha Capri Legging, was our favorite pair for Vinyasa or other vigorous styles of yoga. They are breathable and move with you no matter your pose, without "posing" a distraction.
Best Bang for the Buck
Onzie Capri Pant
Many colorful design options
Fabric is slippery if not wet
Little support or structure
With the price of some yoga pants approaching (or even surpassing) $100, the $56 Onzie Capri Pant is a welcomed relief for your wallet
. And while there are a lot of bargain basement models for sale in the $20 range, they don't tend to perform as well as the high-tech fabrics found on the more expensive pairs. Onzie provides a great pant at an incredible price point, and for this we've given it our Best Buy award. They're made with a thin swimsuit-like material that instantly wicks your sweat away, and the leggings feel soft and silky on. They were our favorite pair to wear in a heated room, but work just as well for non-heated classes. This capri doesn't offer much in the way of compressibility or support, but they're comfortable and easy to move in, and most importantly, not see-through! They're also available in a full-length Onzie Long Legging, in case you prefer that style to a shorter capri
. They come in a variety of fun prints for those who like to inject a little color into their practice, and are a great choice, whether you are on a budget, have a yoga pants shopping addiction, or need something highly breathable.
Our Best Buy winner, the Onzie Capri Pant, is a steal at only $56. This pair is highly breathable and perfect for all you hot yogis and/or anyone who sweats a lot in class.
Top Pick for All-Day Comfort
Beyond Yoga Spacedye Long Legging
Soft fabric moves with you
Comfortable enough for all-day wear
If you're like us, one peek inside your closet would confirm that you live in yoga pants. We personally have stacks of different pairs; some are for wearing around the house or as pajamas, some are "outside" pairs for hiking, climbing, or running errands, and some are for actually practicing yoga in. They all vary in length and thickness, softness and breathability. And when you live in yoga pants like we do, you know that finding a pair that is comfortable enough for all-day wear is very important. Some models might hold everything in and make your tush look ohm
-mazing, but if you can't even sit down in them comfortably then what is the point? The [[Onzie Long Legging] | Onzie Long Legging was our favorite pair for those lounge-around-the-house days]], and for that we've given them a Top Pick award for All-Day Comfort. They are made with a soft and cozy material that has great stretch and give to it, while still holding everything in that you might want compressed a little. The waistband is soft and fits nicely across your middle — not too high and not too low. They weren't the best pair for actually practicing yoga in though; they didn't have the best breathability and took a long time to dry after class. What they did excel at was comfort, and if you are looking for a pair of leggings to wear under a dress or sweater and hate regular tights and the way they fall down your legs, check out these Spacedye Long Leggings. They also come in a high-waisted version, the Beyond Yoga Spacedye Take Me Higher Long Legging
, and a shorter capri, the Beyond Yoga Spacedye Capri Legging
, should you prefer a different cut.
Our Top Pick for All-Day Comfort, the Beyond Yoga Spacedye Long Legging, is soft and comfortable against your skin, and won't feel too tight or uncomfortable even when worn all day long.
