Our Analysis

This version of the Original G Pant has been discontinued by Gramicci.

I have bought and worn out several pairs of these since I started rock climbing about 20+ years ago. They are one of the few good looking cotton pants with a gusseted crotch, adjustable waist, and pretty durable cotton.

I recommend them to someone needing a casual-looking pair of pants that also has good mobility along with a comfortable feel. A great all around/multi-use pair of pants. They feel sort of like wearing a martial arts Gi but they look almost like a pair of dress slacks. Perfect for the urban ninja lifestyle :)

Material

Comfortable, lightweight, fairly durable cotton does not wrinkle as bad as heavier cotton canvas fabrics and feels soft to the touch.

Sizing

Not too loose and not too tight. 32W/32L fit my average (5'10"/165) frame well.

Features

Full leg gusset combined with the lightweight cotton fabric make for very good mobility when high stepping, stemming, etc. The adjustable waist belt should be on all pants ever made. It is so nice to be able to sit down and easily loosen them, then stand up and tighten them back up with one quick and easy pull.

Style

Casual and good looking, almost dressy.

Value

Not as good for bushwhacking as other cotton canvas style pants since the lighter weight fabric can get torn. They are still a good value considering all the other things they've got going for them such as the casual good looks, very good mobility, and the adjustable waist.
