The Mammut Crocodile Sling is the skinniest Dyneema sling we tested that has a tubular design, lending it an ease of handling that was unmatched by the other super skinny slings in our tests such as the Black Diamond Dynex Runner. At 10mm wide these climbing slings are far more compact than other Dyneema slings such as the Metolius Monster Sling, making them an excellent choice for the climber looking to cut down on bulk and weight. Highly durable, with a full 22kn strength, these slings are going to be a good bet for a long lasting, super lightweight product.

The Mammut Crocodile Sling offers the light and fast trad climber the best of all worlds: high durability, ultra compact, smooth handling, and easy to untie. At 10mm wide these slings are significantly slimmer than other Dyneema slings, yet still maintain a full 22 kn strength. In our durability test these slings outperformed all the super skinny slings and virtually every other sling we tested.

The tubular design of these slings gives them a little more wigglability than some of the other super skinny slings, making a weighted knot much easier to untie. When we needed pliers for the other 10mm slings, Mammut Crocodiles untied with just a few seconds of working the knot loose.

Dislikes


As with all super skinny climbing slings, tiny slings mean tiny knots. While a weighted knot was easier to untie in these slings than in other super skinny slings, the knot was still significantly harder to untie than a knot in a wider, beefier sling. In terms of the super skinny, these guys untie the easiest, but in terms of all slings, they are still a bit of a hassle. Also, starting at around $6.50 for the 30cm variety, Mammut's Crocodile slings sure aren't cheap.
