Best Overall Women's Flip-Flop Sandals
OluKai Ohana - Women's
When we tallied up the scores at the end of our review, we weren't surprised to learn that the OluKai Ohana - Women's had far out-performed its competitors
. Although it is fairly expensive, this sandal is 100 percent worth the investment. It offers stellar support (even for light hikes), excellent comfort (even for those lazy coffee shop mornings), and top-notch traction (even on slippery creek crossings). Designed by people who obviously spend a TON of time in open-toed shoes, the OluKai Ohana took home the Editors' Choice Award in our old women's review, and the men's Ohana holds the top place in our men's review. All hail to the reigning queen and king of flip flops!
Best Bang for the Buck
Teva Women's Mush II
One of our favorite products of the bunch, the Teva Women's Mush II
is a comfy foot-molding sandal that has decent support and traction. The squishy rubber/foam footbed offers that "Ahhhh" cushioning, while an inset arch provides more support than any other inexpensive (sub $40) sandal we tested. At only $25, we think the Teva Mush II is an awesome deal if you're looking for something more than bargain flip, but aren't quite ready to drop the $65 for a high-end piece like our Editors' Choice winner.
Top Pick for Spring Break
Reef Women's Fanning
A higher-end sandal, the Reef Women's Fanning
features a contoured footbed with a low arch, a rubber sole with great traction, and wide comfortable straps. This sporty sandal gives off a distinctly beachy vibe (which is no surprise, since it was designed by a professional surfer) and it has an integrated bottle opener in the sole. Our testers agreed - the Fanning says "college spring break!!" At $50, this stable and supportive flip should keep your feet happy almost all day long, whether you're strolling the boardwalk or hitting the surf.
