Our Verdict
The Jones Mountain Twin is an excellent board for any day on the hill. It emphasizes performance and user-friendliness to appeal to a wide variety of riders. Its medium-stiff camber profile provides a consistent and fun turn that has plenty of edge hold. It's a stable ride that won't get bucked around when you're going fast down the line, thanks to its robust profile. The camber helps pop you to the moon but can be challenging for newer riders to harvest the benefits. Another limitation is that it gets the job done in powder but won't blow your mind. The Mountain Twin is best for the intermediate and above riders who are looking to turn the mountain into a playground by turning, jumping, and spinning.

Product Update Note — November 2022
Since our test period, the Jones Mountain Twin has received a performance-driven redesign and updated graphics. Its redesigned shape has blunted tips, a contoured base, new traction tech, and increased stance options. The blunted tips should work to reduce swing weight and increase float. The contoured base has four mm of roll underneath the nose and the tail that should help with edge-to-edge transitions. The Traction Tech provides an additional bump on each edge to increase the edge bite on firm surfaces. This model now uses a Sintered 8000 Base that is fast and durable.

Edging
The Mountain Twin is a high-performance twin on edge. The high-performance nature of this model is well blended to be user-friendly for most ability levels. The user-friendly performance makes this board a good choice for any day out. The medium-stiff flex found on this board provides a consistent in turn feel that is powerful when you engage your legs through the turn. When you engage the camber, the board happily rebounds the energy at the end of the turn for added acceleration in turn finish.
This board rolls very easily from edge to edge. The rocker in the tips helps initiate and disengage turns with little effort, which allows for easy skidded turns and speed control. The Mountain Twin offers great edge hold in firm conditions, whether you are traversing firm snow or carving beautiful sparkling corduroy. Ultimately, this board is entertaining on edge for high-level beginners to experts in various conditions.

Float in Powder
The directional twin shape provides average flotation levels, which is supported by the rocker in the tips. Its powder performance is proficient enough that you could get away with this being your only snowboard. The fact that it could stand alone support its case as a solid all-mountain board option. If you are looking for more float, the insert pack supports setting your stance back to create more nose than tail, which naturally enhances floatation. This also increases the maneuverability of the board to thrive in tighter trees.
Stablity at Speed
The Mountain Twin handles speed very well because of its flex and profile. The medium-stiff camber provides a connected feel to the snow, which enhances your rider security. This board was equally comfortable while straightening or making quick edge to edge movements down the fall line. In bumpy terrain, the directional twin shape and strong nature of the board cut through chop and chunder with minimal chatter. This board is hard to overwhelm and boasted an impressive degree of stability.

Playfulness
This board's playfulness and versatility are two prominent reasons why it is fun to ride on any day. If you want to charge, then it's a good choice. If you want to butter and slash, then it's a good choice as well. Its stable platform remains easier to move and butter than one would expect. Its consistent flex makes locking in and holding butters easier than soft directional boards out there. The Mountain Twin is great for switch riding and offers one of the best all-mountain switch rides available on the market.
The attributes described above indicate the user-friendliness of this board, especially given its flex pattern. The board is easy to skid turns for speed control or approaching the mountain with a slashing mindset. It's playful and versatile to allow for fun riding styles that are achievable by riders of all skill levels.

Pop and Jumping
The Mountain Twin has plenty of pop. When you load up the camber, there is plenty of snap and energy at your disposal. The mostly cambered profile provides all the pop you need. As with most cambered boards, it does take some effort and pre-planning. It can be challenging to pop quickly or unexpectedly. To fully use the pop from this board, the rider has to load up the nose properly. While its performance here is high, it's one of the less user-friendly attributes of the board.
The twin shape of this model provides an excellent platform for takeoffs and landings. It offers abundant stability and is comfortable hitting jumps of all sizes. When it's time to put down the landing gear, this board offers plenty of security, especially for backseat landings.

Should You Buy the Jones Mountain Twin?
The Jones Mountain Twin is a very well-made board for everyday riding. It appeals to the rider who looks at the mountain like a terrain park in order to carve, ollie, slash, and tap at every opportunity. This is a versatile board that can be used everywhere and practically every day if you're willing to set the stance back on powder days.
